Ice Ice Baby versus Under Pressure

Avril Lavigne being sued recently for copyright infringement in federal court in San Francisco by a band member of the Rubinoos caught my interest. Not enough for me to examine the similarities between her dumb song where she is screaming girlfriend or something awful like that and whatever Rubinoos song she allegedly bit. Instead, it reminded me of one of my favorite, and probably yours too, copyright disputes of all time…”Dum Dum Dum dah da dum dum” versus “ding ding ding da dah ding ding.”

Now’s your chance. When was the last time you had an excuse to watch the Ice Ice Baby video? Bill your time to research – prospective new client copyright infringement matter and check out each of these great videos compliments of youtube to compare how you would have decided this case that settled out of court. Or at least just reminisce about the times around the early 90s when most of us wished we were living on A1A Beachfront Avenue, rolling in our 5.0.

Click here for “Ice Ice baby” and click here for “Under Pressure.” Just like 8th grade literature exams, compare and contrast.

You’re welcome.
