SCOTUS, City Council Race With the Kids to Summer Break

The U.S. Supreme Court and Philly City Council are in their annual late-June flurries of activity, as they race to finish business and join schoolchildren on summer vacation. Major SCOTUS decisions handed down this week include a massive class-action against WalMart, a big climate change case, and multiple criminal cases.

Meanwhile, City Council has tabled debate over a comprehensive zoning overhaul proposal and is grappling with proposals to fill the nine-figure gap in the school budget left by big cuts in Harrisburg.
