Comedy Night 2007 – having fun for a good cause
Last year the Young Lawyer’s Division put on its first annual Comedy Night at the Academy of Natural Sciences. It was hysterical! My stomach hurt from laughing so hard. Well . . . they have done it again.
On May 12, 2007 from 7-11:30 pm, the YLD is putting on its Second Annual Comedy Night at the Academy headlining Ty Barnett, last year’s runner-up on NBC’s national program “Last Comic Standing”. Local comic Chris Coccia will be the opening act. The entire event is open bar. Good eats will be provided as well. Also, there is going to be music and dancing (gulp) and a silent auction.
All of the proceeds of the event benefit the Philadelphia Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Philadelphia Bar Association. For those who unfamiliar with the Philadelphia Bar Foundation, it is the embodiment of the Philadelphia legal community’s commitment to promoting access to justice. The Foundation provides funding to 30 organization providing direct legal services to those struggling with poverty, abuse and discrimination.
Last year, over 250 tickets were sold to the event. This year’s event should be even bigger. If you are interested in coming to the event, I suggest that you buy now. Tickets are limited!!!
The website for the event and to purchase the tickets is www.philadelphiabar.org/page/YLDComedyNight. It’s a great opportunity to have fun and to benefit a good cause. I hope to see everyone there!
