12 presidents were generals.  18 presidents did not serve in Congress. 

9 presidents never attended college.  Of those who did, Harvard and Yale claim the most presidents as alumni.   

Taft was appointed Chief Justice of the Supreme Court nine years after leaving the presidency. 

FDR may have been related to as many as 11 other presidents (5 by blood and 6 by marriage).

8 presidents died in office.   3 died on the 4th of July.

Buchanan was the only president from Pennsylvania.  He was also the only president never to marry.

The ancestry of all 43 presidents is limited to the following 7 heritages (or a combination there of): Dutch, English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Swiss or German.
